You gotta start somewhere.
Well, starting I am. I’m sitting here jotting this down on my phone while in the bathroom (not that you needed to know that) taking a break from prepping for tomorrow’s big gig. Well, not a BIG gig exactly, as I’ll only be attempting to garner interest of fellow passerbys in the small little town of Osseo, MN, and not a well established and advertised craft fair; though I do foresee those happening in the future.
My very best friend since the 4th grade has invited me to piggyback off of her & her boyfriend’s garage sale as they get rid of things to make space for their new baby on the way. (Their first!) So I will come with my card table and magnetic display boards in tow, for the low low “booth” fee of zero dollars! I don’t quite know if this is legal or illegal but I’ve been a rule follower my entire life, and this is one I’m willing to toe the line on. Does anyone follow the rules anymore these days anyway? chuckles
At first I thought this was just going to be a fun hobby, something to take my mind off of work, and a therapeutic release. It is definitely all of that but as I’m looking at my inventory and boxing everything up for tomorrow: tissue paper for wrapping, star stickers for sealing, a small basket of miscellaneous stickers to hand out as freebies with purchase, business cards (yes, they are magnets too) to hand out to anyone and every one, that directly links to my website which is up and running (small, yet mighty, and all thanks my love, Mark)- I am feeling a sense of pride in my efforts thus far and more than ever… hope and belief that this can actualize and turn into a full blown small business.
After all, you gotta start somewhere!
Well, time to exit the bathroom and get back to the ol’ workshop (my crafting table) to finish my preparations. And since I took the day off work, I might see if I can get creative with a brand new piece. We shall see..
Magnetically yours,
Katie <3
