It’s been a few months since my last blog post. I have been pretty busy! Mark and I celebrated 5 years of being together and treated ourselves to an anniversary trip to Wisconsin Dells and Chicago. We had so much fun! I took a lot of pictures, which inspired me to create a couple magnets once I got home featuring the Chicago city skyline viewed from the architecture river tour.

Aside from that, I’ve been using every free ounce of energy after work each day to prepare for Krystena’s baby shower, which was last Saturday. That was wonderful! She loved all the games I prepared, and thoughtful touches along the way. I was the host of the games, and therefore an emcee/judge basically. I had never spoken in front of a crowd like that before, public speaking is not my thing and I’ve sucked at every job interview I’ve had to get through. I was so happy to do it though, and through a little nervous laughter (and a cbd drink) I was able to deliver. She is my best friend for life and deserves the world.

Magnet wise, I’ve just been putzin around here and there, and now that vacation and the shower are behind me, I can focus on my craft and really get down to work! Wednesday is my dear friend Kristi’s birthday, and her best friend Nicole has commissioned me to create a magnet of her cuddling Nicole’s cat Junipurr. I am very pleased with how it turned out, and I hope she likes it! Remember, if you have a picture in hand (or on your phone) or even a vision in mind of a magnet you would like, you can email me at hi@magnakatie.com and I will work my magic for you! I must say that Nicole has been a blessing to my business and one of MagnaKatie’s biggest fans. Here is another one I created for her of both her cats, Junipurr AND Bonsai. The cool thing is, these all have different color backgrounds other than my signature black. It was my first time tooling around with various paints which will only lead to more dynamic creations in the future. I honestly could not decide between the red and the yellow background, so I made both and gave her a 2 for 1!

I have my first legitimate craft sale coming up mid-December. I need to really buckle down and create some Christmas and Holiday themed magnets in preparation. I am getting really excited and looking forward to the experience, whether it be good or bad. It will be a great way to gauge my audience and see which ones people are drawn to, and which ones not so much. Though every person and potential buyer is different, and what one might not like, someone else might absolutely love, so I do need to keep that in mind always. I am very intrigued though, and can’t wait to see how it goes.

Magnetically yours,

Katie <3
